I believe in signs…Do you?

believe it or not

Today’s story is either something

some of you believe in or you don’t

and I will let you come up with your own theory.

I have always believed in something bigger out there

and keeping an open mind

to some strange and unexplained situations

especially when it comes to the unknown

so take it how ever which way

you want to take it

because I have already

drawn my own conclusions.

My sister and Mom were talking on the phone

and because of my Dad’s recent passing

somehow got to discussing

what my Mom thought she should be leaving us

after she departs from this world.

As I walked into my sister’s kitchen

 only hearing this one-sided conversation

and my sister telling her it didn’t matter what she planned to leave her,

my sister suddenly turned to me while still chatting with Mom

and said,

“Kimmie, does it matter what Mom leaves you when she passes away?”

My response was without hesitation

and something I have always lived by.

I said

“As long as I have a 20 dollar bill in my pocket

when I walk out the door

my life is content,

so leave me 20 bucks and I’ll be just fine!”

Of course I couldn’t leave it at that,

so I had to add that I also wanted her new coffee percolator

that I just bought for her a week ago.

Please don’t judge me,

it’s a really good one 🙂

From there I left the house

and ran out to do a few things.

When I got home,

I walked into my bedroom thinking,

“Good Lord I need to clean this room up!”

Started picking up my shoes

that I have the worst habit of just flinging off my feet

once I get in the door

and leaving them in the exact spot they land

until the next time I need them.

I get through that little mess

and my mangled  bed is next.

I fling the comforter off and begin flapping the sheets in the air,

move from one side to the other

taking out any and all wrinkles

than placing the comforter back on top.

As I make my way around

taking the creases and folds out

and about to flip the last corner of my comforter

I look down between my bed and night stand

and there in plain sight

hanging from the chord of my lamp

hangs a crisp and fresh

20 dollar bill!

20 dollars

My very first thought was

Holy Crap!

I didn’t even know

I was missing 20 bucks

and trust me

if I was missing it,

my room would have been turned upside down

the day before

like the police do when they have a search warrant.

So what do you think?

Coincidence or something greater?

I truly believe my Dad heard what I said

to my sister and Mom

about simply being content

with a 20 in my pocket.

I think it was his way of letting me know

that he was always going to watch over me.

Some may think it was just some type of luck

and others like myself

may believe in a much higher power,

so as I said,

I will let you come to your own conclusions

however this is what truly happened

(that’s why I had to take a picture)

and although it kind of freaked me out at first,

I can honestly say

that as I am about to head out the door,

feeling very content

I am extremely confident

my Dad will hear me say,

“Thanks for the 20 father!

Guess I can afford

my own percolator now!”

Make it a great day and God bless!

can’t love em’ all…

thinking 6

Something has me thinking…

A friend confided in me that while out walking her dog,

she would literally run past her neighbours house,

petrified that her neighbour would stop her

only to corner her and talk her ear off.

Sadly that neighbour passed away

and now she is dealing with the guilt of not being compassionate enough

when she had all those chances before.

The interesting part is after all the years of avoiding and evading,

why now has it caused so much unrest?

Of course who are we to judge, because everyone one of us have found ourselves in similar situations.

I mean we all have someone who gets under our skin.

Those certain people who just seem to know how to get us completely unraveled.

We don’t want that to be the case,

and as hard as we try to see past the things that make us crazy,

they are always there.

Sure we are supposed to love thy neighbour and all

but let’s face it,

some of “thy neighbours” can be down right nuts and make us do some pretty stupid things.

What is amazing is the lengths we will go to,

to avoid or ignore them.

(insert your own hide and go seek thought here and if you don’t have one, you’re only fooling yourself at this point)

No one is exempt from this one,

(unless you have wings growing out from your back and a shiny little halo above your head)

The truth of the matter is there are just some people you can not stomach.

As much as the experts want to give you all the reason’s in the world for why or how you should change this behavior or pattern

and be the better person if only for yourself,

there are just some personalities you can’t handle or want anywhere in your circle of life.

Easy to say that we can put our feelings aside and be more loving, caring and attentive,

but why am I thinking that you are visualizing  that one particular pain in the ass

and saying to yourself,

“Nope, that ain’t gonna happen!”

Okay so we have established that personality clashes do occur,

and not everybody is our cup of tea.

Why do we bang our heads on this one?

Let’s be real for a minute.

We were all created as individuals,

some people connect,

and some don’t.

It doesn’t get any more simple than that!

I really don’t think we should kick ourselves for not loving every single person we meet.

However as long a we remember

not to be hurtful,  hateful or distasteful.

Just do yourself one favor though…

Don’t wait until you are looking back at all the things you did wrong,

knowing today that you still  have a chance

to do some things right!

worth it

Make it a great day everybody!

there is magic everywhere…you just have to look!

eyes of a child

When I first read this one, I couldn’t help but do that,

“awwwwwww, now how sweet is this?”

Nothing says adorable than the innocence and wonder of a child.

So why do we limit it’s meaning to just that?

Oh sure, we are adults and life and all it’s wonder is a million times more challenging and hectic.

We certainly have those “little moments” in our everyday but who has time for all that?

So how about I give you some things that are possibly some magic moments we seem to pay no attention to or have forgotten over the years?

Here goes…

1-Sticking your face deep into your pillowcase after being on the clothesline all day.

(which I am pretty sure there are a few of you who can relate and personally, this isn’t even an option for myself…It’s my ritual!)

2-Pulling an old coat out and finding money in the pocket.

(okay so it  isn’t a magical moment, but it sure makes you feel like you hit the jackpot or something)

3-The smell of a baby especially after bath time and baby powder.

Yes I know, baby powder isn’t recommended because of it’s health risks but just to be clear.

(we were slathered in the stuff like Pigpen and that cloud that surrounded him and you know what?)

4-This is for the girls, because let’s face it ladies…Nothing is more magical than having a really good hair day!

(this is quite possibly the highlight of EVERY woman’s day)

5-A call or a text out of the blue that simply says, “thinking about you”

6-Finding out that a car repair that you anticipated would cost an arm and a leg isn’t even close.

(I have no problem admitting that I have hugged my mechanic for this one)

7-Waking up exhausted, looking at the time in complete panic because you’re thinking you are late and BAM!

It hits you and you realize it’s Sunday morning and you can coast in your pj’s all day if you want to.

(this one is an ultimate favorite of mine and always gets a fist pump and a “hell ya!”)

8-A rainy day at a cottage, as you lay under some warm and cozy blankets listening to the musical sound as it  hits the roof.

(you would stay there all day, but who can resist the aroma of a fresh pot of coffee at camp? Not me, that’s for sure!)

9-A hug or a cuddle from a child who just wants your arms around them so they know they are safe and loved.

(that my friends is complete magic!)

10-A smile from a stranger.

I chose this one to end my list for a reason.

There are a million more I can add but this is how I see it…

The first 9 are not everyday events but special in so many ways.

However the last one is the easiest form of magic to everyone.

It won’t cost you a penny.

It won’t make you sad.

It won’t work against you.

And best of all…

It won’t be forgotten!

life is ironic

I hope your day is filled with magic!!

Make it a great day everybody! 😉

we all deserve a “Me day”…..

Well folks, another birthday in the books and something struck me today.

After all the well wishes from some amazing people in my life, and the pure love I felt, I couldn’t help but think about those who make statements like “I hate my birthday!”

How about a show of hands as to how many of you only see your birthday as

“just another day?”

I am thinking there are a few of you and some even thinking to themselves,

“I wish everybody would just forget!”

Wow!! I couldn’t  even imagine that!!

It would truly break my heart if not one person made a point of reminding me that today is

“MY DAY!!”

The way I see it……

Over the course of the year, we are all so busy doing for others, and stretching ourselves in so many directions.

Why do we  refuse to allow ourselves that  “ME day?”

 How unfair is that?

It is not bragging or boasting.

It isn’t a matter of conceit or self indulgence.

It’s not like we need a parade in our honor, or an announcement on the evening news (however if that ever did happen to me, boy would that be a fantastic party!!)

If you think hard,

it’s just about being reminded, that on that one specific  day,

It isn’t about counting how many years you have been on this planet, or counting down the years that are left.

It really is just about one thing…..

That for one day,

 You are special!!

You obviously made an impact in people’s lives and all they want to do is say,

“Happy Birthday friend”, and wish you an amazing day!

Is it  really that awful of a thing to think or expect?

Why push away the feeling that it is perfectly okay to be the King or Queen for that one simple  day!!

You know what???

We all deserve it!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with allowing yourself to feel important.

Isn’t this what we try and teach our kids,  so why can’t we apply this to ourselves?

Whether you just had your big day, or are about to have one,

keep this in mind…….

All the fuss and well wishes are designed for one thing, and one thing only.

To shine love in your heart, and remind you that you deserve it!!

I had an incredible day and each and every reminder made me realize that I am loved!!

It doesn’t get any better than that!!

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you for making my “Me day” one of the very best!!!

Make it a great day everybody!!

God bless~~
